"Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" Gets New Stage Play Adaptation for "Entertainment District Arc"

The popular manga and anime series “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” is set to receive a new stage play adaptation for the “Entertainment District Arc.” The official website for the stage play adaptations made the announcement on Monday, revealing that the play will run in Tokyo and Osaka from November to December.

Fans of the series can expect a familiar cast of characters, with Shōgo Sakamoto set to play the lead role of Tanjirō Kamado. Karen Takahashi, Keisuke Ueda, Yugo Sato, and Ryoshiro Tsuji will reprise their roles as Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibara, and Tengen Uzui, respectively.

The “Entertainment District Arc” is the latest story arc in the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” manga and anime series, following the successful “Mugen Train Arc” and “Swordsmith Village Arc.” The stage play adaptation of the “Entertainment District Arc” will be the fourth in a series of adaptations, with the first running in January 2020, the second in August 2021, and the third in October 2021.

Kenichi Suemitsu is set to direct and write the new stage play adaptation, with Shunsuke Wada composing the music. Fans can expect the same level of high-quality production that has become a trademark of the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” franchise.

The anime series premiered in April 2019, with the film “Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train” released in Japan in October 2020. The “Mugen Train Arc” and the “Entertainment District Arc” of the anime series have also been released, with Funimation and Crunchyroll streaming both. The “Swordsmith Village Arc” of the anime premiered on April 10, 2023, with theatrical screenings in over 95 countries and territories.
