After Biden Announced Building More Charging Stations, Elon Musk Replied to the News on Social Media

“Our goal is to build 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations across America. With these in place, road trips will be fully electrified,” the POTUS tweeted.

After President Joe Biden announced plans to install 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations across America, Tesla founder Elon Musk quipped back with a simple solution: “or you can just buy a Tesla.”

In a follow-up tweet, he added that Tesla has open-sourced its charge connector and enables other EVs to use Tesla Superchargers. His advice caught the attention of many people on Twitter, with one user writing, “I’m so confused; I thought Teslas needed charging stations.”

President Biden said yes to the first $900 million in funding to establish electric vehicle charging stations in 35 states throughout the United States. He announced this at the Detroit Auto Show in September. “Today, we’re approving funding for the first 35 states to build their electric charging infrastructure,” he said excitedly. Michigan is one of those states and can begin building eclectic charging stations throughout the state.” He continued that the funding, which is part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, will be used to install charging stations along 53,000 miles of American highways.

The purpose of the $1 trillion Infrastructure Law, passed in November by the White House, is to improve national infrastructure and create new employment opportunities. The recently passed Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is considered to be a huge step in improving our country’s competitiveness and repairing many worn-down roads and bridges.

Washington policymakers have been congratulating themselves on “infrastructure week” for years while never actually investing in infrastructure. After the President proposed his plan, he convinced the members of both parties in Congress to devise a deal. The President has vowed to cooperate with both sides of the aisle so that he can produce results and fix the nation’s collapsing infrastructure. And this historic legislation is now going to his desk for signature.

This bill will repair America’s roads, bridges, and railways while also expanding access to clean water and high-speed internet. It also included provisions for climate change and environmental justice. Finally, it provides additional investment into the country’s neglected areas.

The proposed legislation will improve our nation’s ports, airports, railroads, and roads. In turn, this will help reduce inflationary pressures and strengthen supply chains. The result of the improved infrastructure will be good-paying jobs and overall economic growth that is sustainable and equitable for all people involved. In combination with this new legislation, the President’s Build Back Framework will create an average of 1.5 million jobs every year for the next decade.
